Our material logistics accompanies your product from the development stage to the finished series product. Our main focus lies on high-quality in due time, but also cost-conscious procurement of all parts and components as well as their storage. For questions concerning the component procurement, our competent purchasing team is at your disposal.
Supply Chain Management
In the Supply Chain Management, we bring all the institutions together that are involved in the value chain and control the logistical cooperation with the result that our products enter the market successfully.
- Supplier selection and evaluation
Our own evaluation system ensures that only approved suppliers are added to our supplier pool. We also evaluate distributors in each individual manufacturer line separately.
- Cyclic supplier conversations
With our main suppliers we carry out supplier conversations on an annual basis where, among other, new models of cooperation are identified and addressed.
- Triggering of orders and tracking the delivery date and order confirmations
Due to our intelligent ERP system, we manage the complete material logistics via one single system. This allows us, already a few days after the triggering of the order, to pass on a prediction of the delivery status of the components to our sales department.
Modern means of communication bring the world closer together. This gives us the opportunity to contact selected and qualified suppliers worldwide, and to make a statement about availability and price within a few hours. Especially in the area of "difficult to obtain components" we can fall back on a network of specialists, with whom we have long-standing experience. A variety of online stores complements our purchasing pool and allows a 24-hour delivery in the US and the European area.
Advice on the selection of components
During the development phase for a new product, the availability and replenishment time of a component used should always be taken into consideration in addition to the material costs. By constant updating of delivery times and replenishment times, we can already give you important information for future series delivery times in advance. Besides the actual function the following criteria are important:
- Long-term availability
- Optimal price-performance ratio
- 2nd source
- Operating conditions such as temperature range, air pressure, humidity, height, space requirement
Stockpiling, storage and pre-financing
Product-specific storage and pre-financing of parts and components are part of our full service. In addition, we provide you with three common methods to guarantee the availability of components: framework contracts, call orders and procurement of key components.
All components and parts in our house are stored according to the current IPC and DIN standards.
This includes, of course:
- Drying and tempering of components, especially of printed circuit boards
- Sealing and shrink-wrapping in humidity protection bags (MBB)
- Warehousing in ESD compliant packaging and environment
We have a variety of programming systems and adapters that allow to program components prior to assembly (Off-Circuit) as well as In-Circuit (ISP). In addition to memory ICs and microcontrollers this includes crystal oscillators, FPGAs and CPLDs.
Time and again parts are supplied only through allocation by the manufacturer. Reasons can be an increased demand, but also lowered production capacity or other, non-measurable factors. This is referred to as "allocation". Here our application management is actively engaged. It allows us to adapt delivery deadlines in time together with our customers, as well as to set up a safety stock or to search 2nd sources with better availability.
PCN and LTB
Due to constant improvements and new developments on the component market and the associated product changes, an exchange of information between the development and the production is needed - even after delivery.
- PCN (Product Change Notification)
By maintaining close contacts with our suppliers, we get Product Change Notices (PCN) to all components, which have already been procured by us.
We use this knowledge to automatically inform all customers who have purchased this component through us.
- LTB (Last Time Buy)
Also product discontinuations that we obtain from our suppliers are automatically forwarded by us to all customers who have used the component according to our ERP system.
This way you stay up to date, even if you are not in direct contact with the supplier.
Traceability down to the smallest component is implemented in our production process. We are able to identify the affected delivery lots via the serial number on each board or assembly. Should it unexpectedly come to a batch problem, we can exactly identify which products are affected. This reduces the number of products that could be affected by a product recall.
