Through-Hole Technology
Through-Hole Technology (THT) refers to a technology for establishing an electrical connection between components and the conductive pattern, in which the component connections are inserted and connected through prefabricated holes in the circuit board.
The connection is usually established by soldering with lead free or leaded tin. Other joining techniques such as solderless press-fit or SKEDD technology are possible as well.
The term Pin in hole technology (PIH) is used synonymously with Through-Hole technology.
