Through many years of experience and continuous exchange with manufacturing specialists and PCB manufacturers, layouts are designed to pass all phases of production without problems. Product quality and reliability are increased by appropriate adjustments to production processes, while costs are usually reduced by avoiding unnecessary or complicated production steps.
We are the extended workbench of your development. Naturally, the know-how remains confidential and is not lost to you.
The synergy between production and development provides production-optimized and cost-reduced layouts. It does not matter if it is a simple two-layer or complex impedance controlled HDI multilayer PCB.
CAD / Data Import
In our house most developments are generated by using Altium Designer ™, formerly Protel® or DXP®. If your groundwork is available in appropriate formats, our work can be linked directly to it. If this is not the case, circuit diagram, netlist or other data must be converted from your EDA system or have to be redrawn. After the work has been completed, you will receive all project data in the current Altium-Designer®-format. Thus, you are able to maintain the data appropriately. If you are working with another EDA system, the data can be imported. This is possible with the following formats:
- Protel® / Tango
- DXF™/ DWG™
On request, we can create and edit your layout in Eagle. Please note, however, that in this case the options are limited significantly.
For layout design, we usually work with the latest version of Altium Designer. Traditionally, the circuit diagram is the essential information carrier concerning components and nets. The routing is taken over by the layout artist and not by the computer. Either way, the requirements of the circuit determine the layout class. The skilled layout artist with theoretical background knowledge finds the ideal path between high-speed design, high packing density, fine line technology, 3D, EMC-compliant design and - which is becoming increasingly important - even the heat management on the PCB. By doing so, the cost-efficient assembly and manufacturing of the PCB is not lost sight of. Due to the close link between development and production, new designs, footprints or whole technologies pass through a special control mechanism. If necessary, they are improved in iterative steps until they have reached a reliable maturity. Of course it is not always about the impedance controlled HDI, which is adjusted for its runtime. Even for simple layouts, the choosing of appropriate technology and design leads to a high savings potential. You benefit from this process. Whether one-sided PCB or multilayer, square, round or otherwise shaped board, 3D, HDI, high-speed and impedance-controlled, Kuttig Electronic brings your wishes and specifications into appropriate housing.
The development department will support you in all phases of your projects, no matter if it comes to a new development or the optimization of your own development for production. Through years of experience and the perfect mastery of the layout systems, we can turn your circuit diagrams into production compatible layouts quickly and economically.
On request, we procure "key components" already during the layout phase, so that prototypes can be manufactured within a short time.
Construction of panel arrays
In coordination with the PCB manufacturer and our production we put the individual printed circuit boards together in order to form an array.
Particular attention is paid to the optimization in terms of reliability and costs.
Again, adherence to design rules is particularly important, so that, for example, components at the edge of the PCB are not damaged during depaneling.
Following the creation of the layout and after approval, we process the data for the PCB manufacturers professionally. To date, the data formats Extended Gerber and Excellon are used preferably. You receive this information in copy as well as a summary of all documents in PDF format. Especially in Smart PDF you can easily navigate through all the plans.
